Married couple and seasoned bar owners Will and Candace Kuhn purchased Ace’s Sports Hangar in August 2020, during the pandemic. At the time of the rescue in November 2021, Will and Candace owned and operated four bars in the area, including Ace’s.

Operating several bars during the pandemic stretched Will and Candace very thin. While Will focused on running the couple’s three other bars, Candace took on running Ace’s herself. With little experience in running the day-to-day operations of a bar, Candace struggled and the bar began to fall apart.

Now, after only a year of operation, Ace’s persistent losses have drained the couple’s savings and taken a toll on their marriage. According to Will, Ace’s is losing $15,000 a month and is draining valuable resources from the couple’s other bars.

Ace’s Sold

Less than three months after the rescue, Will took to his personal Facebook page on January 31, 2022 to announce Candace had sold Ace’s:

“I wanted to take a minute to brag on Candace Goggans Kuhn for a minute. As most of you know we’ve had what feels like a dozen bar and restaurants over the past years. Always with candace designing them and me running them. Well today marks the day that Candace sold her first location. The colony was her baby from design to operations. Everyone remembers their first business deal or sale.

Congratulations babe. You have this one in the books with more to come. Very proud of the business woman and partner you have become.”

Under new ownership, Ace’s is now called the Twisted Bar and Grill.
