McDonald’s is celebrating the Mercury retrograde this week by offering a choice of a McChicken or McDouble with the purchase of a medium fries exclusively in the brand’s app on Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday May 11, 2022.

To take advantage of the Mercury retrograde deal, simply add a medium fries to your McDonald’s app order on Tuesday or Wednesday, and you’ll qualify for your choice of a free McChicken or McDouble sandwich.
According to NASA, a “retrograde motion is an apparent change in the movement of the planet through the sky. It is not real in that the planet does not physically start moving backwards in its orbit. It just appears to do so because of the relative positions of the planet and Earth and how they are moving around the Sun.”
Meanwhile, according to followers of astrology, when Mercury enters an apparent retrograde motion, it also marks the start of a period of misfortune on Earth.
In repsonse, McDonald’s is teaming up with tarot card reader and astrology expert Madam Adam to provide select fans with a McDonald’s-inspired Tarot reading on TikTok on May 10, 2022.
