On tonight’s episode of Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer and his team are in Ybor City, Florida to rescue Cerealholic Cafe and Bar.
In early 2021, Lisa and Darrell Lawson used their life savings to open Cerealholic Cafe and Bar, a nostalgia bar where everything offered is cereal based, like Apple Jacks cereal-infused burgers, meatballs with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch glaze, and much more of the same.
Lisa and Darrell decided to bring in their son Brandon to manage the bar, but the concept never really caught on and at the time of the rescue, the bar was reportedly losing $9,000 a month, forcing Lisa and Darrell to take out a series of small loans just to make payroll.
The makeover happened in February 2022, and Jon decided to scrap the cereal theme and changed the name of Cerealholic to The Loft Elevated Bar + Food. Lisa and Darrell decided to keep the name, but the pair are reportedly considering opening a second new location with the same failed cereal-inspired concept.
