Jerry Clark – a retired 30-year veteran of the police force – bought AJ’s on the River and accompanying food truck in 2016 with $100,000 from his retirement funds. Inexperienced in the hospitality business, Jerry hired his experienced son Patrick to manage the bar. But despite Patrick’s 23 years of experience in the restaurant business, the bar struggled to make a profit, which also caused issues with their personal relationship.

With the bar struggling to stay afloat and over $120,000 in debt, AJ’s on the River is just months away from closing its doors for good, unless Jon can right this sinking ship.

The rescue happened in February 2022, and Jon decided to change the name of AJ’s on the River to Jerry’s Dockside Bar & Grill. Jerry decided to keep the new name.
