Previous to its US debut, the Chicken Big Mac made a big splash the UK earlier this year, where it proved to be so popular that McDonald’s was forced to temporarily pull it from menus due to an inability to meet overwhelming demand.
The mashup also appeared on menus Down Under in Australia in 2017, while returning five years later for a second run in early 2022.
The Chicken Big Mac basically takes a Big Mac and replaces the beef patties with chicken patties.
According to the Washington Post, McDonald’s hinted that the Chicken Big Mac could eventually go nationwide if test reviews are good enough.
“While not everything we test makes it on our U.S. menus, we’ll use this time to gather feedback from both customers and restaurant crew as we consider opportunities to offer more delicious options in the future,” McDonald’s was quoted as saying in an email to the Post.
