California Pizza Kitchen Introduces New West Coast Burger With Free Pizza Offer

Oddly enough, California Pizza Kitchen is boycotting pizza during National Pizza Month this year in favor of spotlighting its line of non-pizza menu items, including the debut of its first-ever burger – the new West Coast Burger – starting October 4, 2022.

Previously only available as part of a very successful limited test market, the West Coast Burger features an elevated beef blend of wagyu, chuck and brisket, and is topped with melted cheese, Nueske’s applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, tomato, pickles, lettuce and house-made burger sauce on a brioche bun.

As part of the brand’s pizza boycott, CPK is rewarding fans who skip out on ordering pizza. Any CPK Rewards member who skips ordering pizza during any visit in October and instead chooses to venture out and order a CPK salad, pasta, entree or the new West Coast Burger, will be rewarded with a free seven-inch pizza that can be redeemed on a future visit.

While the month-long boycott is a lighthearted jab at the heavy attention pizza receives on CPK’s menu, more than 65 percent of CPK sales come from non-pizza menu items and the boycott offers the brand an opportunity to showcase their menu diversity.

The free pizza offer is valid for lunch or dinner during a future dine-in visit, with a limit of one offer per check, per table with a minimum spend of $20. The offer will be automatically loaded to CPK Rewards member accounts when a guest signs up and visits CPK without having a pizza purchase from October 4 through October 31, 2022. The free pizza reward must be redeemed by November 10, 2022.
