Meet Purple – M&M’s First New Character In A Decade

For the first time in a decade, M&M’s is expanding its iconic crew with the introduction of a new permanent character and spokescandy: Purple.

Purple’s first appearance will debut with a song titled “I’m Just Gonna Be Me” and accompanying music video that celebrates all voices, encouraging people around the world to embrace the unique and authentic parts of themselves.

For every stream of Purple’s song, M&M’S will donate $1 (up to $500k) to Sing for Hope, a nonprofit that harnesses the power of the arts to create a better world, as part of the M&M’s FUNd.

Purple joins the iconic cast of M&M’S characters, who recently were given a refresh with updated looks and more nuanced personalities in January 2022.

The news of Purple comes on the heels of another musical announcement from the brand: the launch of M&M’s Packs Inspired by Lil Nas X. Fans can now get their hands on the limited-edition packs designed by Lil Nas X at MMS.com. For every pack sold, M&M’S will donate $5 (up to an additional $100,000) to Sing For Hope.
