Restaurateurs Joe Naim and Raja Batchon opened Papa Joe’s Sports Bar in 2012. Papa Joe’s proved to be such a great success that in 2018 Joe decided to take a backseat from the daily operations of the bar and retire, leaving Raja’s children Victoria and Nick in charge. Not long after, Raja passed away, forcing Joe to come out of retirement and help Victoria and Nick get the bar back on the right track. But now, Joe is reportedly losing $5,000 a month, over $200,000 in debt, and just months away from having to shut down the bar.
During the rescue, which happened back in September 2022, Jon decided to change the name of Papa Joe’s Sports Bar to Layla’s Pizza Pub. The owners decide not to keep the new name and reverted back to Papa Joe’s Sports Bar/ PJ’s Sports Bar.
