In anticipation of Monday’s total solar eclipse, Krispy Kreme has just announced the launch of its newest creation: the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut. This limited-time treat features an Original Glazed Doughnut dipped in rich black chocolate icing, garnished with silver sprinkles, filled with a buttercream infused with Oreo cookie pieces, and crowned with a whole Oreo cookie at its center.

Available from Friday, April 5, through Monday, April 8, 2024, eager doughnut enthusiasts can satisfy their cravings in-store or opt for pickup or delivery via Krispy Kreme’s app and website, while supplies last. Fans have the option to purchase the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut individually or as part of a specialty dozen, which includes six Total Solar Eclipse Doughnuts and six classic Original Glazed doughnuts.
This isn’t the first time Krispy Kreme has marked a total solar eclipse with a special creation. Back in 2017, during the last total solar eclipse visible in the US, the brand unveiled a twist on its iconic Original Glazed doughnut by coating it in chocolate glaze for the very first time.
The Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut adds to Krispy Kreme’s legacy of commemorating space-related events with innovative treats and promotions. From serving fresh Original Glazed doughnuts at NASA’s Apollo 11 Mission launch viewing site in 1969 to more recent creations like the Mars Doughnut in 2021 and the Artemis Moon Doughnut in 2022, the brand has consistently celebrated astronomical milestones.
