Popchips, the snack brand known for its never-fried, healthier potato chip option, is set to make its grand theatrical entrance in the eagerly awaited Columbia Pictures/Alcon Entertainment’s The Garfield Movie, premiering on May 24, 2024. This debut coincides with the introduction of Popchips Nacho, which has quickly become the preferred snack of the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating feline, Garfield. Launched earlier this year, Popchips Nacho boasts a crunchy, cheesy flavor that has won over consumers seeking a guilt-free chip option. In alignment with Popchips’ commitment to health, Nacho is gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, and contains 50% less fat than traditional fried chips.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, as Popchips unveils a series of limited-edition Nacho bags featuring the iconic and smug Garfield on the front. These exclusive bags will be available at select retail locations, including Walmart, Aldi, Sprouts, and more, adorned with distinctive orange display shippers marked with Garfield’s paw prints and stripes, signaling his fervent endorsement of the nacho-flavored snack.

In The Garfield Movie, voiced by Chris Pratt, audiences will witness Garfield embarking on an unexpected outdoor escapade alongside his long-lost father, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. Amidst the chaos, Garfield can be seen lounging and indulging in Popchips Nacho and popcorn in the movie trailer, showcasing his unwavering affection for the cheesy snack.

To commemorate Garfield’s newfound snack preference, Popchips is hosting a Hometown Screening Sweepstakes, offering participants the chance to win a year’s supply of Popchips and a hometown screening of the movie for 150 people. Additionally, fifty winners will receive VIP prizes, including movie tickets and Garfield merchandise. The sweepstakes, available for entry until May 19, 2024, encourages fans to engage with Garfield through TikTok and Instagram using augmented reality filters and games, such as the Catch the Chip filter.

Beginning May 3, residents of Los Angeles can immerse themselves in the Popchips experience by visiting the larger-than-life orange Popchips wall located at 8201 Melrose Ave. This vibrant mural features Garfield eagerly eyeing a colossal Popchips Nacho bag, inviting passersby to join in the fun. Furthermore, Popchips will distribute Nacho samples and swag during select weekends in May, allowing attendees to savor the bold, cheesy goodness while anticipating the movie’s release.
