According to the episode synopsis, Jon Taffer tries to help a struggling married couple save their karaoke bar in downtown Las Vegas and get their goals to start a family back on track.
In 2017, newlyweds Steve Corral and Mami Kanemitsu bought Ninja Karaoke in Las Vegas. Over the next few years the bar grew a robust and loyal fan base amongst the Las Vegas art community. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Steve and Mami were forced to shut down the bar and lay off their entire staff. At the height of the pandemic, Ninja Karaoke was losing as much as $22,000 a month. While Ninja Karaoke eventually reopened, the financial and personal damage caused the pandemic lingers on.
The rescue happened back in April 2021.
