In 2017, and after 40 years of success in the fast-food industry, Fredericka Jones decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a bar and opened the Sandtown Pub in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
Believing she could parlay her decades of experience in the fast-food industry into success in the bar industry, Fredericka sunk her life savings into opening the pub. However, Fredericka soon learned the bar business is nothing like the fast-food industry, and she struggled to make a go of it from the start. With an untrained and undisciplined staff, and over $200,000 in debt, Fredericka turned to her daughter Amber to help manage the bar. But that move caused friction in their relationship, resulting in even more tension at the bar and a further decline in business.
The rescue happened back in December 2021 and Jon decided to keep the Sandtown Pub name.
