Golden Chick is celebrating the 2023 Lenten/Seafood season by bringing back their fan-favorite panko-breaded butterfly shrimp as part of four unique seafood combo meals including a new six-piece butterfly shrimp combo.

First introduced in 2020 to accompany its Southern-fried catfish, Golden Chick’s butterfly shrimp are coated in a light and crispy panko crust and are notably larger than standard popcorn shrimp.
Here’s a closer look at Golden Chick’s 2023 Lenten specials:
- New 6-Piece Shrimp Combo: Six panko-breaded Butterfly Shrimp served with a choice of one side, cocktail sauce, a fresh-baked yeast roll and 30-oz drink.
- Surf and Turf Combo: Two of the brand’s signature Original Golden Tenders served with jumbo-sized, three panko-breaded butterfly shrimp, one side, cocktail sauce, gravy or dipping sauce, a fresh-baked yeast roll and 30-oz drink.
- Catfish and Shrimp Combo: Two hand-breaded catfish paired up with three crispy, crunchy panko-breaded butterfly shrimp, one side, a fresh-baked yeast roll and 30-oz drink.
- 3-Piece Catfish Combo: Three hand-breaded catfish fillets, one side, a fresh-baked yeast roll and 30-oz drink.
Available year-round, Golden Chick’s Southern-fried catfish is sourced from US farms and is hand-breaded in a spiced cornmeal batter before being fried until golden.
