
Burger King employees at a California location fell for a prank call about a fake gas leak in the restaurant and followed the caller’s instructions to smash out the restaurant’s windows.

Workers at the Morro Bay Burger King received a call from someone who indicated that they were with the fire department and advised the workers of an emergency.
The workers were advised by the caller that the restaurant needed to be ventilated and they had to smash out the windows. The workers followed the caller’s instructions.
The restaurant on Quintana suffered extensive window damage.

The Morro Bay public safety team, including both the police and fire departments, responded to the possible gas leak finding the damage to the facility but no gas leak.
This case is being investigated by authorities.
